Congratulations to the lovely new parents Singer /Fashion Mogul Jessica Simpson and her Fiance Football Player Eric Johnson!  The much anticipated arrival has well finally arrived.  It felt as if poor Jessica was pregnant for years.  Any how a healthy Baby Maxwell  Drew Johnson was born 9 lbs 13 ounces on Tuesday in Los Angeles.  Yes, That is a big baby girl. God Bless her! Its been said the Labour suite was fabulous as it would be if you or I were a celebrity I guess. A whopping $4000 a day for the Labor Suite.

Well everyone has got something to say about Jessica and her weight gain during her pregnancy and blah blah blah…. I find it completely normal to be big, especially if you are 5′ 2” and lets face it carrying a mini football player in your belly. So actually a shorter gal would look to be carrying bigger than a taller one. No complex here. Been there done that.  I m the same height as Jessica Simpson. I too carried my first baby pretty big, turned out to be 8 1/2 lbs when he arrived. As far as the weight gain,  I had gained maybe 60 lbs during the pregnancy.  It  took me longer than a year maybe even two years to get back to my pre pregnancy weight.  While prego Basically, I couldn’t even tie my sneakers or reach my feet to put socks on for the last couple of months.  I was hungry for two breakfasts a day.  For the record Jessica Looks and always looks beautiful, if you are going to criticize a pregnant person- watch out.  It’s not nice. Just saying.

NEW Study finds Pacifiers Encourage Breastfeeding

Mommy News Flash ! Pacifier vs Breastfeeding

New Findings according to recent studies from Doctors at (OHSU) Oregon Health Science University  suggest that the link between pacifiers and giving the breast does not hinder breastfeeding but actually encourages it. Woo Hoo! For a long time we had been told otherwise. We were told that it hinders breastfeeding. Now the opposite may be true.

Prior to the new study we were told that by giving the pacifiers that baby would not take to the breast. The American  Academy of Pediatrics recommends avoiding pacifiers until the baby is one month old.  Stating that it can deter breast feeding or interfere.

The importance of breastfeeding can not be more emphasized as we are aware of the tremendous health benefits it can provide to a newborn baby. During the recent study the Hospital in the infant/mother unit had banned pacifier distribution from July to  November 2010 and found that babies were more likely to have formula once the pacifiers were taken away or limited by the hospital. The study was based on over 2000 babies. Study found that babies that were given a pacifier were more willing to breast feed rather than have formula.

Well in 3 months time I will be bringing my own pacifier to that party room, when time comes to deliver my baby. What are your thoughts?  If it helps my baby breast feed or boost his chances I think I ll take my chances and use a pacifier.  At this point I m going to need all the help I can get.  Bring back the Binky.

Pacifiers -The Good The Bad

There are several types of pacifiers out on the market. Ones that have novelty sayings on them like “Mute Button” or “Pull for Alarm”.  There are different precautions to take when deciding which pacifier is right for your baby.  They have specific orthodontic ones where they offer proper form for the mouth. Then they have glitzy glammy ones with crystals and stuff on them, which yes are cute but you don’t want those getting loose  and choking your child. You should shop pacifiers according to appropriate to age of baby/child. Always check for recalls and whether the pacifier you ve been using needs to be changed or updated.

  • act as a distraction
  • prevent (SIDS) Sudden Infant Death Syndrome
  • they are disposable
Cons
  • child may become dependent on it
  • If used for too many years, they may cause dental problem ( front Teeth)
  • Might increase risk for middle ear infection

New moms, ever get diaper cream everywhere but the babies butt?  Sometimes it could get messy. I used Desitin a lot. It worked well on my babies bottom. Not on my clothes though. it would get on clothes and that was the end of it, a not so nice stain either on my clothes or the babies. Well no need to sweat it.  A solution that works most of the time.  Use a little bit of White Distilled Vinegar and rub it nicely on the stain. Throw the item  in the wash like you usually would and viola! The stain is no longer there. I was so relieved when I discovered this little tip. Hope it helps.

Not only does it help remove stains from clothes, you can use it to clean glass, mirrors and your windows. Say you ran out of windex. Check out some of the other simple ways to get clean….. With White Distilled Vinegar. So much one product can do. Wish I know about this a long time ago.

It even removes the residue on your shower head. -put a plastic bag containing 1/2 to 1/3 cup of white distilled vinegar around it and leaving it there for two or three hours. If mineral deposits don’t wipe off, scrubbing with an old toothbrush should complete the job.

Removes mold, mildew cleans grout. You can clean chrome fixtures, sinks, with a little bit of salt added to the vinegar.

Removes coffee stain from coffee maker kettle. Yes I was so excited about this one!

Kills germs in a bathroom! wow. bye bye Clorox. I rather get a whiff of vinegar.  use full strength vinegar, non dilluted.

You can clean and deodorize urine on a mattress with White Distilled Vinegar!

Remove the smell of spoiled food from the refrigerator - first rinsing the area with soap and water. Spray surfaces with full-strength white distilled vinegar and wipe them down with a damp cloth or sponge. Fill some containers with baking soda and place inside. Close the door and leave for a few days.

Happy to know that one product can accomplish so many tasks. Oh and did we mention you can cook with it too..

Samuel Garner Affleck Arrives.. Congratulations Afflecks!

Congratulations are in order  for the happy Couple! Actors Jennifer Garner & Ben Affleck welcomed the arrival of their new bundle of joy ! The happy family welcomed their third child on February 27th, 2012.  A healthy baby boy by the name of Samuel Garner Affleck.  According to Huff Post Celebrity, Ben Affleck first announced the happy news on Facebook.

The loving couple have been married since 2005. Since then they have had  two daughters together their names are  Serafina, 3 years old and Violet 6 years old. And now their first son Samuel.

Can’t wait for the cute baby pics.  Judging by the looks of both parents I m assuming another cute baby!! Great names too! Congratulations.  More Photos to follow ! Stay tuned.
